The History of Day Dream Graphics

Day Dream Graphics, known as DDG for short, was first introduced into the world back in March 2001 and was originally owned by Snow. Before DDG, Snow had ran a Sailor Moon website called "Sailor Moon Free Web Graphics" where she offered various free graphics based off of Sailor Moon. Snow owned the website for a couple of years, then she decided she needed a domain with proper hosting. Thus, DDG was born.

After working with Sailor Moon and the anime genre, she decided to make DDG have a non-anime section as well. DDG grew from an anime-based graphics site into a website that catered to all types of designs. After DDG heavily grew, Snow decided to introduce tutorials because everyone was asking her how she made all of her graphics. The tutorials section eventually evolved into several categories with plenty of tutorials.

Meantime, DDG continued to grow at a tremendous rate and Snow kept running into problems with the hosting because of the rate of how much bandwidth was being consumed. She moved DDG a lot and no matter where she went, it outgrew the plan. In the end, she decided to introduce a membership system in 2003 to limit the amount of downloads per month and per user, so she could save bandwidth.

Today, DDG is owned by me, Torre and is part of the Enko Media Network. I took over DDG from Snow in early 2008 because she had became to busy and did not have time to work on DDG. I learned so much from this website, that I could not dare see it just die out. Currently, DDG is going through its 4th major revamp and will return as being one of the best resources out there.

The Dynamic Backend of Day Dream Graphics

DDG is powered by PHP & MySQL. The CMS was just completly rebuilt from the ground up and is completly dynamic. There is also an extremly well built Administration Panel so we can easily manage every aspect of the website.

One major thing that we are focusing on with this major revamp, is user-accesiblity. We made sure that most of the pages are Valid XHTML & Valid CSS. We also wanted to make sure that the site is easy to navigate without getting lost.

Like stated earlier, our CMS is completly dynamic. Some of our most dynamic features on DDG are the membership system, designs database, icons database and the tutorials database.

The Future

DDG's future depends completly on our visitors. The more they demand, the more that is offered. We want to make sure that we meet all of our visitors needs. Basically we want to be the best! :)
