I’ve seen and tried a lot of different web hosting companies over the years, I even work for one, and I still find it amusing to check out their promotions and offers. I’m a bit of a window shopper, you could say.

I never recommend going with a web hosting company that offers “unlimited bandwidth” or “free traffic” because there is really no such thing. A server can only process so much with a certain amount of sites and customers and if you’ve got a particularly busy site (like DDG) you’re going to “steal” a lot of the server’s resources. One of two things will happen then. Your web hosting company will tell you you’re “over a certain limit” and charge you extra, or boot you off.
Having proper borders to relate to is a good thing, and makes it easier to argue your case when your host tries to overcharge you.
